About us

Thank you for visiting our blog! We are George and Olive Kraft and we originally hail from Georgetown, TX. We have 4 children, 4 children-in-law, and 6 wonderful grandkids. We are also lucky to have many supportive friends and family that ‘travel’ with us in spirit as we traverse this wonderfully expansive country/continent of ours.

George and I started talking about traveling the USA back in the mid 1980s after we married. But, as everyone knows, life had other plans for us. Work and raising a family required a more permanent living situation, so our dreams of traveling the country got put on the back burner.

Fast forward to 2021… our 4 kids are now grown and starting families of their own as we are looking forward to ‘retirement’ in a few years. Watching our kids making their own ‘travel the country’ dreams come to fruition, brought back our own dreams as youngsters and prompted us to reassess what the future holds for us.

We concluded that it is still not too late to make our old dreams become a reality, and we made the decision to spend some time as full-time RVers, experiencing the states and their natural wonders first hand , meeting new people and ultimately choosing a place to spend our retirement years.

George created this blog with the intention of us documenting our travels as well as documenting what life as ‘full-timers’ looks like. He also thought it would be good to include information on RV upgrades, issues and how-to excerpts for anyone considering an RVing lifestyle.

Hope you enjoy reading about our adventures. Would love any feedback/comments you have.
